I Think I am Doomed to a Bad Place

September 9, 2011

The Little One has quite the imagination, which is fine, but this was too much. She was telling the Big One that there were babies in her class at school who were biting each other and getting blood on everyone.  So her teacher took  {Little One}  in the car to the baby place to get some new babies.

I told her that her teacher wasn’t allowed to take her anywhere in the car without my permission. She proceeded to lie to me and tell me over and over again that her teacher took her somewhere. So I told her that I was going to have to call the police to take her teacher to jail for taking her somewhere. She agreed that’s what needed to be done.

So I called the “police” on her school.  About 5 minutes later she asked me what happens if the school tells the police she lied, so I told her the police would come and take her to jail. She ran and hid in the closet. Then a few minutes later she came out sobbing that she didn’t want to go to jail. And she was just joking – not lying .

So we had a long chat about lying and teasing or joking. And how important it is to always tell the truth.

Then I had to call the “police” back to tell them how sorry she was. She is now petrified that the police won’t listen and will still come to take her to jail.

When a white car pulled into the driveway to turn around, both kids freaked out because they thought the police came even though I told them she was very sorry and made it all up.

I know I am a terrible mother, but this child keeps making stories up and not being truthful and I don’t know what else to do.

Oh, so now you make the police the bad guys, huh? Nice, thanks! 🙂 JK

My little one would do the exact same thing, I promise you, except that he wouldn’t be afraid and would prob be looking out the window to see when they arrived….
