When Did I Become the Booger Collector?

September 9, 2008

Now I know there are all the standard mom behaviors that I swore I would never do; You know lick my thumb and use the spit to wipe my child’s face or fix their hair, wipe my infants nose with my sleeve, etc. Yes, I am guilty of them, but they are done out of necessity. The problem is I think the Big One thinks that since I do these “gross” things that maybe I actually enjoy them.

Her latest habit is to pick her nose and after fishing out some nasty boogers, she shares them with me. I admit to falling for “Look, mommy…” way too many times. But c’mon the Husband and I do not pick our boogers and then show them off as trophies. Where did she figure out this was a cool thing to do? I have tried ignoring her, redirecting her to the Kleenex box, telling her it’s disgusting and not cool, etc. But it doesn’t matter she still picks the boogers out and shares them with me.

I suppose I should just be thankful that she is doing so well with the concept of sharing.

At least she isn’t eating them! 😉
